The Department of Natural Resources and Mines and the Department of Energy and Water Supply have been combined to create the new Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy.

We will continue to update this website while we work on our new website.

Tangalooma beach access

Tangalooma beach access

The following comments can be attributed to a spokesperson for the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy.

The department is working with Tangalooma Island Resort and has re-iterated to management the public’s rights and obligations regarding the use of the beach in front of the resort.

Tangalooma Island Resort is required to allow ongoing access to this beach for the use and enjoyment of the public.

As a general rule members of the public have ongoing access to all Queensland beaches, including the beach in front of Tangalooma Island Resort.

This access is available up to where the tide goes up to (the high tide water mark).

In the use of this beach the department has the expectation that all parties use common sense and act reasonably.
