Local info sessions for Surat Basin underground water impact report

23 June 2017

The Office of Groundwater Impact Assessment (OGIA) will hold two information sessions to provide an annual update on the 2016 Surat Basin Underground Water Impact Report and landholders are invited to attend.

Released every three years, the independent underground water impact report provides an up to date prediction of the impact on groundwater pressure that all CSG projects in the Surat Cumulative Management Area are anticipated to have.

Mr Sanjeev Pandey, OGIA Acting General Manager, said the annual sessions are an opportunity to keep landholders fully informed about the groundwater impacts.

“The OGIA team will be hosting information sessions in Roma on 4th July and Dalby on 5th July to provide landholders an update about the changes that would affect the groundwater impact predictions since the 2016 report was released.

“It’s also a chance to ask questions about the modelling and for our team to provide information on other OGIA research projects happening in the Surat Basin, including scientific modelling to support the development of the next report in 2019.” he said.
